The Tokyo Projectshow description

Originally documented on a Super 8 film camera at two of the busiest areas in Tokyo (Shibuya and Shinjuku respectively), the still images are derived from photographing the projected film from skewed angles. The Tokyo Project is a testament to living in one of the most densely populated cities in the world. The distortions serve to underscore the cognitive dissonance of megalopolis life, especially as a gaikokujin or gaijin 外国人 (lit. 'outside country person') living in a culturally homogeneous country .
